It has been a long – long journey till we got into Nairobi Airport. From Europe to Qatar at first having a layover of a several hours. We were able to get some sleep during the layover, and most of the people were looking at least strange at our t-shirts with a “Christ alone can change the world”, message.
Many hours rewarded richly by meeting the whole team on Kenyan soil. We met there old friends, and new friends as well. But the best thing it was that a journey of about ten days would be ahead of us, and all of us were ready to follow through.

Our bus, and our driver were waiting for us, and while we were loading our bags a quick introduction was made. We met our group leaders and they helped us become familiarized with the ground rules of the trip. While in the bus, we started having a devotional time with songs and prayers over the crowded city of Nairobi.

We knew that we had to support a few gigs in different schools across Kenya next to CC Band, and we were so anxious to meet new people, to get accustomed with new situations and the extraordinary Kenyan environment. We were ready to play with children, to encourage them, to get to interview them as Commit Ministry International is actively involved in supporting many of the children in more then a dozen of schools with food, clothing, shoes and all the schools supply needed, and more then that providing the funds needed for schooling fees.
It was a wonderful time spent in Kenya. Spending a while away of your comfort zone, enriches you deeply spiritually and it gives you the opportunity to experience a paradigm shift from the comfortable sofa back home to envisioning a new mission field away from your household.
Yes, the gigs were fun, but the time spent as a team in prayer and preparing the medical clinics, preparing the activities during the day, the time spent immersing in the local culture were building up the team, as it was an old time team. We had fun going to Safari for one day, seeing the zebras, the lions, the giraffes, the crocodiles and the lovely and noisy funny – monkeys.

One thing I know, I will be missing Kenya a lot. I will be missing everyone in the team, all the new people I met, all the challenges we had to face that made me stronger and wiser, and with a more awareness of a fallen world in such a deep deep need of a Savior as Jesus is. We were sobbing like babies when we had to go. Nairobi airport at the very beginning was a place of joyful reality. It was also a place of sadness. The Kenya experience, one of the all time blessed experiences was about to an end.
