A Kenya Slum School for Orphans Needs a Classroom & Host Medical Outreach, November 15-28, 2025

Your team member fee of $4185.00 includes round trip international airfare from most major cities worldwide. Your team will help with light construction on a school for disabled students in a primitive area of Kenya. Your team will take part and host at least 2 medical camps for the communities we serve. For many of the locals, this will be the first time they ever see a doctor. We'll also be involved in two fresh water projects at a newly-founded secondary school in a slum just outside of Kakamega in Western Province. We provide the training, you provide the dirty hands and clothes! This is definitely a work trip but whenever possible, we'll venture out to see Lake Victoria, the Equator, and one of the famous Kenya game parks. This trip will change your life!

This mission trip is open to everyone! Your trip fee of $4185.00 includes round trip international airfare from most major cities worldwide. The team member fee also includes medicines for the medical camps, most of your meals, ground transportation, in-country air travel, some of the materials related to the work project, and secure host and hotel lodging.

You will help with light construction on a much-needed vocational training building for disabled students at a Special Needs school in rural Kenya. You will also be helping to create walkways for disabled students and their wheelchairs. The schools need more dorm space and the dorms they have need more mosquito nets; you'll help provide and install these too. One of the schools needs a classroom built and you and your team will help with some of the block making and mix cement to put the walls together…you will really be doing this! And no experience is necessary and there is no shortage of children and even older students with whom you can make friends. We'll teach you everything you will need to do; everyone takes part! Commit Ministries also partners with our friends at the Ministry of Health who are incredibly gracious to our teams. They provide qualified doctors and nurses and you and your team will help them. The camps can last a day or even two but everyone will receive primary care in these areas where medical facilities are few and far between. You will be part the Jesus-serving Team that helps these communities make changes at their schools to meet the mounting challenges in medicine, equality, and even economic reform. We will also visit several other schools to offer encouragement and assess their upcoming needs to see how we might help in the future.

You are needed. Think of it; even if you just wish to share with any of the classes at the schools, play volleyball, basketball, or soccer, visit the grade schools next door, or just hold the greatest kids in the world, you will never forget these experiences! Even though experience is never required, we could benefit by having those on our team who know a bit about construction, brick work, block work, well drillers, water tank fabricator, Hydroponics, Agroponics, plumbing, solar, concrete workers, electricians, medicine, doctors, nurses, first aid, and other related fields. After all, we don't know everything but have very qualified team leaders to help you learn how to do much of the needed work.

Not all work and no play…this team will take a safari game drive at a national game park to view wild animals in their natural habitat. We'll also do some shopping for souvenirs at the Maasai market and finish our debriefing in Nairobi before going home. Time permitting, we'll do a bit of sightseeing too to places like Lake Victoria or the Equator.
